IBS Las Vegas Continues to be the Fastest Growing Beauty Show in the US
More than 18,000 beauty professionals in attendance; up from previous year
June 1, 2010—New York, NY—The International Beauty Show – Las Vegas, presented by American Salon magazine, took place April 24-26, 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and drew 18,321 enthusiastic beauty professionals. The show boasted hundreds of classes and speakers, fantastic Main Stage performances, and an exhibit hall packed with essential
products, tools and demonstrations.
Exceptional Main Stage Performances
Some of the most talented industry professionals performed on the Main Stage, providing the often standing-room-crowd with coveted tips and tricks. The inspiring Dee Adames, Martin Parsons and Marco Pelusi presented their latest techniques, and, for the first time at IBS Las Vegas, celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo demonstrated his skills, proving to be a definite crowd pleaser. The creative forces behind Cirque du Soleil’s Viva ELVIS and The Beatles LOVE gave attendees a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into prepping and primping their on-stage artists.
Brand New Classes & Speakers
The 2010 conference program was packed with new educators and topics. More than 115 classes were available to beauty professionals, on everything from hair and nail techniques to makeup application. Business building classes were also available, as were in-depth Hands-on Workshops. Highlights included:
“We’re thrilled by the outstanding support that IBS Las Vegas has received by the industry. The show’s attendance has more than tripled since we purchased it in 2006”, remarked Dana Lupton, vice president and group show director. “The packed show floors were a clear indication of the vibrancy and relevancy of the show.”
A Bustling Exhibit Hall
The exhibit hall was bursting with some of the industry’s most innovative vendors who provided valuable in-booth education and showcased countless products and tools. Attendees stopped by the CND, Conair, Farouk Systems, Macadamia Natural Oil, RUSK, and Young Nails booths, among others, to pick up essential products and learn practical skills. The BaByliss Pro, Brazilian Blowout IBD, LeChat, Minx Nails, and Enzo Milano booths, among many others, displayed today’s hottest nail and hair trends.
“IBS Las Vegas was amazing for Farouk Systems. We had a forty percent increase in sales and gathered numerous new leads and contacts for salons. Thank you, IBS, for your support and for the great attendance in Las Vegas! We feel this show is really growing and meeting the needs of an expanding market,” said Lisa Marie Garcia, director of shows and education, Farouk Systems.
Nailpro Nail Competitions
Nail Competitions, sponsored by Nailpro Magazine also took place at IBS Las Vegas and attracted more than 125 excited competitors from the US and abroad. Contestants put their skills to the test in a variety of categories, including Sculptured Acrylic Nails, Design Sculptured Nails and Fantasy Nail Art and prizes ranged from trophies and product giveaways to cash.
International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference
IBS Las Vegas attendees visited the IECSC exhibit hall at no additional charge and explored more than 425 leading spa, skincare and wellness companies. Upcoming spa events include IECSC Florida, which takes place November 6-7, 2010.
