Bonnie is the president and founder of Bonika Shears. She is an expert shear sharpener and has trained sharpeners in 49 states and more than two dozen foreign countries. She has a degree in science and was a previous high school science teacher before embarking on sharpening. She recently won the top shear sharpener award in the certification program for 2012 with National Beauty Tools Sharpeners Guild. She has contributed to the "Continuing Learning in Cosmetology" textbook and is the inventor of the coil comb. She writes for two sharpening magazines and various stylist publications on the subject of shears.
Kathryn is known as the "K" in Bonika Shears. Her 30 years of experience as a stylist and 25 years as a salon owner makes her a technical expert for Bonika Shears. She has won more than 30 hairdressing and haircutting competitions and has received training with Sassoon/Toronto, Loreal/New York, Anasazi and many others. She enjoys mentoring young stylists and has served on both private and state cosmetology school boards. Kathryn is a platform artist and educator at hair shows nationwide and is featured on educational videos.
