The Soul Silo - OTII

Bio:

Morag is an internationally recognized educator and pioneer in oncology-informed esthetic practice, specializing in the safe, ethical support of clients impacted by cancer and complex health conditions. Her work bridges medical understanding with esthetic and wellness care, helping practitioners work confidently within appropriate professional scope.

She is the author of foundational texts including Oncology Esthetics: A Practitioner’s Guide (2009, 2014), Health-Challenged Skin: The Estheticians’ Desk Reference (2012), and Oncology Esthetics (2020), which have helped define standards for working with medically compromised skin.

Through global education, Morag translates how chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies affect the skin, hair, nails, and lymphatic system into practical, evidence-informed guidance. Her teaching emphasizes ingredient safety, contraindications, clinical reasoning, and ethical decision-making—particularly when supporting clients during active treatment and recovery.

She also addresses the psychological and emotional impact of treatment-related appearance changes, equipping estheticians to provide confidence-building, supportive care without overstepping medical or therapeutic boundaries.

In parallel, Morag is expanding oncology-informed wellness education through Equine Assisted Learning, an experiential modality that supports self-awareness, resilience, and emotional integration, complementing her commitment to whole-person care.

Her work reframes oncology esthetics as safety-first, sustainable professional practice—grounded in evidence, compassion, and respect for both the client’s experience and the practitioner’s expertise.
